1 The data controller


Edu-Tech BVBA, Maria-Theresiastraat 45, 3000 Leuven. We prefer to collect as little data as possible from our customers. However, sometimes it is really necessary when you are a customer and want to use our services. We always treat your data with care and make every effort to ensure your privacy. As a company specializing in modern cloud technology, we want to give you the following privacy guarantees.

  1. We never share your personal information with other parties without a legitimate reason.
  2. We protect your personal information as if it were our own.
  3. We use your personal data only for the purposes clearly described below.

2 Purposes of processing


We process your data only in the context of

  • Customer administration
  • Supplier administration
  • Organizing events e.g. webinars
  • Informing clients about activities of Edu-Tech or suppliers
  • Any forwarding of offers from Edu-Tech or by third parties for the customers
  • Handling questions or complaints from customers or third parties against customers
Name and address:
We process your name because we prefer to address you personally instead of using some kind of code. Without your address we cannot issue “invoices” nor can we write to you should we fail to contact you in any other way.
Email address and phone number:
We need your email to communicate with you. Moreover, we send your “invoices” exclusively via email. We also use it to keep you informed about the activities we organize, any offers we find interesting enough to share with you and any other information related to your services.

Payment details:

We process your payment information through the services of our bank and any online payment platform.

Of course, you are free to choose not to receive emails from us and let us know, except for these regarding billing.

3 Transfer to third parties


Your data will only be passed on to processors, who receive a specific instruction from Edu-Tech to this end and are only allowed to process the data for the purposes mentioned above, on the basis of a processing agreement. We will not sell your data to anyone. We will share your data with others only in the following cases:

  • To provide or perform our services
  • For payment services to enable various payment methods.
  • To carry out a legal obligation

4 Edu-Tech as a processor


For some services, Edu-Tech acts as a processor. If this is the case for you and there is no processor agreement yet, you may always forward it to [email protected]. If you don’t have one yourself, we can help you with that.

5 Retention periods


Data are kept for a period necessary for the purposes of processing. As an exception, we are required to keep accounting records for seven years.

6 How do we store your data?


Your information is handled in a secure manner. Therefore, we use a variety of security technologies and measures to appropriately protect your data from unauthorized access, use, loss or disclosure. These technologies and measures are regularly tested and updated as needed.

7 Rights of the data subject


Customers have the following rights with respect to Edu-Tech:

  • The right to access and correct their data that Edu-Tech processes.
  • The right to erasure and restriction of their data that Edu-Tech processes, to the extent compatible with the purposes of the processing.
  • The right to object if you no longer wish to be notified of updates or direct marketing emails.
  • The right to transfer data and to do so in a structured, common and machine-readable form.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority.

If the purposes for processing change or this notice is modified, Edu-Tech will communicate in advance. If you believe that your data has been mishandled, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority at  https://www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be/verzoek-klacht-indienen
